P.S. I’ve been taking this past month off from blogging as I begin a new business venture. I have become a partner with my friend Sara in Fresh Ink Writing Services. FIWS is a company that provides copywriting (business writing such as web site content, newsletters, white papers, etc.) services to the business world. Now that most of the nitty-gritty startup is done, I can get back to some semblance of normalcy…if I ever knew what that was!!
I’m in dire need of a year-end cleansing. How about you?
As you can see from the picture of my office, I’ve got boxes of tin cans, decorations and leftover Christmas essentials on top of the boxes of clutter I’m trying to get organized for the end of the year.
There’s something about the holidays that sets me off kilter. For me, the self-employed, it’s like going on vacation and getting back to find what appears to be an overwhelming amount of mail and to-do projects that cropped up during the getaway.
I’m getting the clutter crazies, which should drive me nuts for at least the next few days. The clutter crazies are when you see — and despise — the clutter around you but don’t have the time to take care of it. Then either time opens or clearing the clutter becomes THE priority and all he** breaks loose. My husband knows to stay out of my way when I have the clutter crazies.
What’s really great is that somehow the process of clearing the clutter provides a cathartic release of creativity. It seems the cleared clutter cleanses my mind and opens its positive energies to a new start. Do you get the clutter crazies…and the resulting release?
I do so love the New Year! Happy New Year to you all.
