Blossoming Bud

by Kathy Ruff

I was amazed when I went to my sister’s the other day and saw this beautiful clematis (below). It was huge, easily the size of the palm of my hand.

It struck me how a bud that began so tenuously, became plump with energy and slowly began to blossom, sharing its subtle beauty until at last it confidently displayed its unique essence. If your eyes are open, you can’t miss its splendor. It catches your attention and attracts you; it mesmerizes you.

I believe that’s how the Spirit works in us. Its like a bud that lies within us, relatively dormant. Once our passions ignite and we’re ready, an inner force compels us to let go of the tight protections we use to nurture and grow, and we venture out into the world to display and use our unique gifts. We open our hearts, trusting and confident about moving forward in our chosen path.
Is your bud blossoming?
