The End of the Road

by Kathy Ruff

I’ve seen some crazy road signs over the years, but this one has to be the most unique. I wonder if this was a one of a kind.

As Tioga County, Pennsylvania grows, expanding into connections with New York and other outlying areas, what was once a road is no more. This sign appears on the side of what is now the roadway to a boat launch.

I also wonder if the roads we create in our lives sometimes end up as a dead end or in the wrong place. I guess it really doesn’t matter as long as you are aware of where you are and what lies ahead. That consciousness allows you to make choices to prevent problems and to change direction, if that’s what you decide to do.

In this case, it didn’t bother Suzi, Sarge and I that there was no road ahead. Sarge enjoyed some swimming and fetching sticks before we turned around for our return bike trip back to Mansfield.
Are you aware of the signs in your life that could signal a problem ahead or prompt a change in direction? Do you heed them?
