Now that our Alzheimer’s Family Fun Festival & Memory Walk is over (raising slightly over $12,000!), I now have a chance to see and enjoy some of the beauty that surrounds me.
Fall seems to be coming in slowly this year in this part of northeastern Pennsylvania, but I can smell the distinctive odor of rotting leaves. What a beautiful smell!
If you look hard in the distance, you can see some flaming foliage on the Broad Mountain. But Flagstaff Mountain and Mt. Pisgah in the foreground retain most of their greenery as of Oct. 13 when this picture was taken.
Soon enough the leaves will turn and fall and, until the snow comes, a relative starkness will cover the land. Today I choose to see the beauty.
