Birthdays provide a special opportunity for each of us to begin anew on our own time frame. The anniversary of our births is like a new year, a clean slate on which we can create and fulfill our dreams, hopes and desires for the coming year.
Yet many of us become overwhelmed by thoughts of what it takes to create the change we desire and force pressures upon ourselves that need not be.
Planning can be a good thing, but even the best-laid plans can go awry. The only thing we CAN do is the best we can as we live in the moments of our lives – NOW. This moment is the only one we have.
Being aware of and living in the moment is all we can do. In this moment, we can choose to do something to move toward where we want to go or what we want to be, or we can go with the flow and follow where the winds of life take us. Neither way is right or wrong. I believe both are needed to achieve balance, flexibility and spontaneity.
At times we’re productive; other times we are not. Sometimes we move forward in a whirlwind of activity and other times we choose to enjoy the peace and beauty of the moment.
Which moment will you choose? Now is the moment. Be aware of and live in this moment. You’ll be glad you did.
