Accept the Obvious

Weather is one of many things over which we have no control.

A recent hail storm left many of these 3″ plus hail stones in the area. Many windshields and back windows were shattered by the stones as they fell from the sky with dogged intensity. All we could do was watch…as the missle-like ice balls pelted everything on the ground.

It was easy to see we had no control over this storm or what was damaged or what was not. We had to accept the reality and wait until it passed to start assessing the damage and picking up the pieces.

Sometimes it’s easy for us to see and accept the obvious; sometimes it’s not. It’s obvious we have little or no control over people, places or things…yet we always seem to want to change them. Imagine what it would be like if we didn’t have that desire, if we could accept the reality of who people are…without trying to change them.

I pose a challenge to you all. For one day, 24 hours, accept everybody whose life interconnects with yours. Accept that they are not what you want them to be. Accept that they are a spiritual being doing the best they can in the moment. Don’t try to change them. Let me know how you feel after that 24 hours.
