The Pleasure of Play

Today’s my hubbie’s birthday, so I figured I’d share his latest project. For about 2 1/2 years, he’s been rebuilding this — 53 GMC — and Wednesday he asked me to take some pictures so he can get it insured and on the road. (I already told him if he wants me to ride in it, I’ll need a step-ladder…too high for me!)

Tom’s pre-retirement employment included an auto body business, so he loves to tinker with cars. His passion involves rebuilding, using a little and eventually selling his ‘toys’ when he gets the itch to do another.

I’m not really sure what toys I like best…I enjoy reading, writing, taking photos, being outdoots (but not in the sun) and gardening…I guess I’m what many would consider a fuddy-duddy. But I don’t really care. I take pleasure in playing with those things that bring a smile to my heart.

What toys do you play with? Cars? Books? Flowers? What ‘play’ lifts your spirit, makes you smile or makes the time pass too fast when you’re doing it?

This truck I like so much better than the newer ones! Our husbands have the same birthday. If you are truly a fuddy-duddy ,I don't think you'd be out in the wild so much:)
