Do you fear change?

The sky’s colors change day and night.  Leaves change color in spring and fall.  It feels pretty natural…at least in nature.  Change is a part of the natural cycle of life, death and rebirth.

But it’s hard to think about that when you really fear something… whether it be speaking in public, watching a spooky movie or taking the next step to move forward in your life.  Yes, there’s always the choice not to speak, watch or move forward, but those choices may prevent the enjoyment you could get from taking the risk.

Isn’t it amazing how we can talk ourselves into fearing a situation such as speaking in public?  Yet once we actually do it…and live to see another day…we realize it wasn’t as bad as we envisioned it.  We may be uncomfortable but given time and practice, we may do better and enjoy the process.

How can you overcome fear of change?

Find your inner strength and use the tools you have.
Embrace your gifts, those things you’re passionate about, that bring a smile to your face.
Allow yourself to make mistakes.  Accept and learn from those mistakes.
Reason away the self-created stumbling blocks and act
