Time Marches On

Boat Launch A, Mauch Chunk Lake Park

It’s hard to believe the first month of 2013 will soon be history.  Where did the time go?

A recent trip to the lake showed what was a warm day after a snowstorm.  Fog covered the mountaintop and the ice surface showed signs of instability.

Today it’s windy and blustery after a near 60-degree day yesterday.  I also saw some little white blooms pushing through the snow, signs the season is changing and time marches on.

I look at the clock at 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and it’s no longer dark.  The daylight hours grow, another lovely sign of change.

“Time….is on my side, yes it is.”  (Rolling Stones)  Is time on your side?  Have you done the things you wanted to do in January?  Are you working toward where you want to be in July or December?  Time marches on…are you?  I know I’ve got to give myself a good kick in the butt because I’m not any closer to a few of my goals than I was at the end of 2012.  Yes, I’m busy and work expands to fill the time.  But I want more than work.  I want…I want…I want…

Time marches on and it’s time I join the parade.  How about you?

Back in high school, I was a majorette and loved to march in parades. Now I'm content walking with both knees functioning. The pace may change, but just keep moving toward your goals. Sharon K.
