As 2015 approaches, I have a dream of freedom…
…freedom to be me, no matter what others may expect or believe is right for me.
…freedom to follow the path where my heart feels drawn.
…freedom to pursue my deepest desires and dreams.
…freedom to do what I feel I must, despite others’ opinions.
…freedom to think the answers others have may not be the answers for me.
…freedom to know we are all a part of God, interconnected and loved equally.
All of these freedoms may seem easy for some, but they haven’t always been for me. I’ve always tried to consider other people’s viewpoints, many times allowing those to deter me from pursuing my own dreams. Not this year.
This picture of the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ cemetery in Gettysburg reflects only a minute portion of those who have paid the price for us all to have these and many other freedoms.
What will you do in 2015 to use your freedom fully?
