Looking for Warmth

Little Miss Abby’s looking for warmth this morning and putting herself as close to it as she can.  The routine cuddling of the morning’s over and her access to body heat is gone.

I don’t blame her.  I don’t know what it is outside because my outside  digital thermometer isn’t registering.  The lowest I’ve seen it go was -5 the other day, so I guess the cold has it acting up.  The inside half shows 66 degrees even though Tom has the thermostat at 70-plus, so I know it’s cold.

This is the kind of cold that turns the mucous inside your nose to ice as soon as you breathe if you don’t have a scarf that covers your nose.  It’s pretty sad when you’re praying for the temp to get up to freezing!

But Little Miss Abby found one of the warmest spots in the house as the heat register continues to pump out the heat.

Today in Pennsylvania and other areas of the Northeast I’m sure we’ll all be looking for the same…the warmest spot to rest our bones.  My suggestions:  If you have to be outside, keep covered, wear layers and don’t stay outside too long.  When you come in, be sure to make yourself a nice cup of hot cocoa in a ceramic cup to warm your hands and your innards.  Give yourself a little extra warmth by taking a little time to put an afghan over your legs to get just a little added warmth before you move on with the rest of your day.

Better yet, cuddle up to your significant other for a few minutes, especially if that significant other has fur!  ðŸ™‚
