What Brings You Peace?

     What brings you peace?
A sense of peace radiates through my body when I walk through a cemetery.  Maybe part of that peace is knowing the souls whose bodies rest there are in everlasting peace.  Another part of the feeling could be, in this case at the Soldiers & Sailors cemetery in Gettysburg, a sense of reverence and thankfulness for the peace I and many others can enjoy because of their valiant efforts.
I also gain a sense of peace when I’m in nature,
My bike rides on the trail bring a natural peace to my mind, body and spirit, something no drug could ever do.
Nature has a way of just being what it is, changing when it’s time to change.  It follows the flow of life it’s meant to follow.  To me, that brings a simplicity to my life that makes me understand true peace.
Finally, I get a sense of peace when I pet Abby, the tabby, my ‘adopted’ cat.  How can you not be peaceful when a creature purrs?
What brings you peace?

  1. When I appreciate what everyone does and gives, when I focus on being a part of nature who can make a difference, and when I form realistic expectations, I find peace.
