Spread Your Wings

SPREAD YOUR WINGS
by Kathy Ruff
I stopped at the Flagstaff to get some fresh air, sunshine and inspiration.  I wasn’t disappointed.
This big bird spread its wings, airing its body as the winds passed by.  It wasn’t a one-time action and she wasn’t in a hurry.  She would turn toward and away from the wind as if to allow its energies to comb her feathers, cool her body or refresh her spirit.
The mid-60 temps and cool breeze felt great to me, too, as I stopped for a few minutes in my travels to enjoy the view.
I mimicked her movements and spread my arms to the sky.  My chest opened up and my neck stretch upward, releasing the tight muscles caused by too much computer work.
The entire outing barely took five minutes.  I had ‘spread my wings’ and refreshed my spirit to move forward with a smile and a sense of peace for the rest of the day.  How great that felt!
Why not spread your wings for a few minutes today?
