Friends are like flowers. They come in every size, shape and color.
Some display vibrant colors while others show a more subtle beauty or create a backdrop to highlight the beauty around them.
Some radiate a gentle aroma while others exude a more pungent smell or seem to emit no odor at all.
Like flowers, some friendships last a long time while others come and go in short order.
Like flowers, each friendship has its own beauty, essence and life. Just because we love roses doesn’t mean the Baby’s Breath and greenery around them have no value.
I recall an old Girl Scouts’ jingle: “Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the other’s gold.” How true! I appreciate and cherish each friend, though I may not see some very often. It doesn’t matter if it’s silver or gold…friendships remain a rich blessing.
Thank you for being a friend! How about we all pay it forward and thank someone else for no reason, just for being a friend? I dare you!
