“The power of one mind can shine into another, because all the lamps of God were lit by the same spark. It is everywhere and it is eternal.” A Course In Miracles, Chap. 10, IV,7:5
The power of the mind of my cousin, Marlyn Fisher Westin, has shined in the lives of her family for 67 years. While Marlyn will no longer be with us physically, the light and love she shared will continue.
When someone dies, many of those left behind review their lives with the departed. We may ask ourselves what legacy the departed leaves. I believe Marlyn’s legacy is one of shared love. Love of family was one of the most important aspects of Marlyn’s life. She shared that love with her extended family each Christmas by creating a personalized, unique Christmas message. That message shared important milestones including educational and job attainments, engagements, marriage and the birth of her first grandchild.
The most striking and memorable part about her creative offering was the love with which she wrote her message. Like the smell of fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies, Marlyn’s love permeated each message. You could feel the pride, love, honor and integrity conveyed. I know the power of Marlyn’s mind and love will remain with all those who knew her.
We also have a power in our minds, a power meant to be shared with others. Why not share yours today?
Written in loving memory of Marlyn Fisher Westin.
