Okay…this was a trick question. But you may see one by reading to the end of this blog entry!
The variety of colors caught my eyes. That brings a smile to my face. Green grass, a maroon blooming sedum and a lilac-colored butterfly bush highlight nature’s end-of-summer push. Do you see the leaves turning on the poison sumac growing out of the stone wall on the canal?
Soon there will be many more colors, providing Mother Nature hasn’t had too many weather challenges this year. A late frost, hot weather and rain soakings played havoc with not only my vegetable garden, but also the colors or lack of them. Depending what happens in the next two months, we could have a gorgeous fall foliage…or not. Those colors also bring a smile to my face.
Hopefully, all the colors bring a smile to your face, too. If not, perhaps this short quip will.
Do you see the squirrel overlooking the fence to the left of the red wheelbarrow? Patti got that figurine a few years back at the Philadelphia Flower Show. We’ve heard many comments on how real it looks. Today’s reaction was really funny. According to Patti, as a couple walked along the wall, the woman was whistling – trying to get the squirrel’s attention!
Look in a mirror. Did you smile??
